Alun Edwards

A&A and Compliance Senior Manager

After 30 years working in practice for a top 25 firm, during which time he acted as a responsible individual and held the position of Director of Audit and Assurance, Alun joined Mercia in 2019 and now works as one of our technical consultants. Alun has also previously acted as a trustee of a large charity operating in the education sector and of its related occupational pension scheme. A member of the ICAEW, he also holds the Institute’s diplomas in charity accounting and IFRS. He is also currently studying for ICA’s Advanced Certificate in Anti Money Laundering.

Alun’s role at Mercia involves conducting compliance reviews, advising clients using our Technical Queries service and writing  material for our Promote and technical products.

Away from work Alun likes to travel, and often combines this with walking and cycling. He also regularly volunteers for the Kent Wildlife Trust at sites near his home in Canterbury.
