SRA Accounts Rules Update

New SRA Accounts Rules came into effect in November 2019. This course is ideal for people who were unable to attend update courses in the spring or those seeking a refresher of those rules.

Changes to the SRA Accounts Rules came into force in November 2019 which make the Rules far less prescriptive and allow solicitors more flexibility in achieving the desired outcome of keeping client money safe.

The Reporting Accountant will need to check that solicitors are applying the new rules from 25 November 2019 but may also need to check compliance with the previous rules up to this point. Accountants are expected to exercise their professional judgement in determining the work they do and when preparing their report.

With such a moving target, it is essential that everyone involved in such assignments is fully aware of their responsibilities and of the key changes between the 2011 rules and the 2019 rules.

This course is suitable for all those with an understanding of the 2011 Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and who need to gain an insight into recent changes.
